Goodman Group (“Goodman” or “Group”), a global leading owner, developer and manager of industrial property, is developing 22,000 sqm of new space at its Gyál Logistics Centre near Budapest, which has been partially pre-leased. Once construction is complete, Goodman will have built out the entire 44,500 sqm of lettable space at the logistics centre.
Gyál Logistics Centre is ideally located for logistics, being a mere 22 kilometres from the city centre of Budapest and benefiting from access to major transport infrastructure. The property is only 15 kilometres from Liszt Ferenc International Airport and is situated at the junction of the M5 highway and the M0 ring road.
“Goodman is able to capitalise on its strong financial position to enlarge its footprint in the Hungarian market with the expansion of Gyál Logistics Centre. This new development will enable us to respond faster to the needs of our customers in a prime logistics location,” said Błażej Ciesielczak, Goodman Regional Director for Central and Eastern Europe.
Prime new space
Goodman began the construction of the 22,000 sqm property in April, which will be completed in the last quarter of 2016. Goodman has pre-leased 4,750 sqm of the facility to third party logistics service provider ADR Logistics and two additional units of 9,750 sqm and 7,700 sqm, respectively, are being developed on an uncommitted basis in response to strengthening customer demand for modern, well located logistics space.
ADR Logistics chose Gyál Logistics Centre, ideally located close to its headquarters, for its new, modern warehouse, with 4,000 sqm for storage space and approximately 750 sqm of office space, including a mezzanine floor. The logistics service provider will use the facility to store premium food products and beverages.
“Goodman’s logistics centre in Gyál offers us the perfect location to support the growth of our business. Furthermore, we selected Goodman for its strong reputation for quality property development and long-term, active property management, so we were assured of a focus on quality throughout the lifetime of the building,” said Balazs Zeher, Managing Director, ADR Logistics.
As part of its integrated business model, Goodman owns and manages the logistics space it develops. Goodman strategically manages and continually invests in the quality of its properties, resulting in the Group having one of the highest occupancy and customer retention rates in the market.
The existing properties at Gyál Logistics Centre is owned by the Goodman European Partnership, Goodman’s flagship real estate investment vehicle in Europe.
